- <p> Climate and clothing: Summer clothes are suitable year round.
- The evenings can be chilly, especially November-March, and light
- wraps or sweaters are recommended.

- <p> Immigration and customs: A passport or other proof of U.S.
- birth or citizenship is required for entry. Visas are not
- required except of official and diplomatic travelers. No
- inoculations are required.

- <p> Health: Municipal water supplies are potable. Fruits and
- vegetables are safe. Doctors are available 24 hours in Kingston
- andthe principal resort areas.

- <p> Telecommunications: International telephone and telegraph
- services are good. Jamaica observes eastern standard time year
- round.

- <p> Transportation: Local buses are overcrowded but provide
- fairly regular service. Taxis are available. Main roads are
- paved, but as Jamaica is mountainous, they are often narrow and
- winding, with uneven surfaces. Jamaica has a thriving rental
- car business. Traffic moves on the left.
